The Flatiron is another building with a distinctively unusual form. Vaguely similar in shape to an upright iron, it is the oldest Manhattan skyscrapper. A New York heritage jewel, it stands 87 meters (285 ft.) tall, and it apex measures only 2 meters (7 ft.) wide.
